Gary Hawkins, a third generation native of Boise. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in business and began his career in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gary worked on locating sites for companies such as Smith’s Food and Drug, Safeway, Albertsons and Circle K. In 1976, Gary decided he wanted to come back to his hometown of Boise to start his own development company.
Gary started developing small medical office buildings and neighborhood shopping centers and eventually became one of the first developers to build power centers and entertainment complexes anchored by mega-plex theaters. Since 1976, he has developed more than 200 different commercial properties in 23 states.
Gary was a senior instructor in the commercial investment division of the National Association of Realtors (CCIM). For 20 years he helped develop and teach financial and market feasibility as well as shopping center development classes. He has taught seminars in cities from Miami to Anchorage.
