The town of Gilbert has experienced remarkable growth over the years. Originally a small, agriculture-based community with fewer than two thousand residents in 1970, Gilbert has transformed into a vibrant, economically diverse city with a population exceeding 200,000. As the community expanded, the demand for high-quality educational opportunities increased.

Performance Charter School Development (and our parent company, Hawkins), in collaboration with The Charter School Fund and in partnership with Legacy Traditional Schools, addressed this need through the development of Legacy Traditional School – Gilbert. Situated within the master-planned Cooley Station community, this 79,125-square-foot campus serves students from kindergarten through middle school in modern, state-of-the-art classrooms designed to support contemporary learning.

The school has been recognized as the #1 charter school in Arizona by Ranking Arizona and was named one of the Valley’s most beautiful schools by the Arizona Republic, reflecting the community’s pride and careful planning in its design and development.
